In the manufacturing of hydraulic parts, transmission components, medical devices, and other complex parts, traditional processes often require multiple machines, multiple setups, and multiple operations for completion. This decentralized processing approach not only suffers from low production efficiency but also affects final part accuracy due to positioning errors from multiple clamping. The emergence of multi-tasking technology provides a solution to this problem.

Multi-tasking centers integrate turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and other machining functions into a single machine, featuring opposed dual-spindle and multi-turret configurations. After a single setup, workpieces can sequentially complete outer diameter turning, face milling, side drilling, thread machining, and all other operations. This integrated approach helps shorten production cycles, reduce work-in-progress inventory, and improve positional accuracy between various part features.

Turn-mill multi-tasking is an important form of multi-tasking technology. Turrets equipped with Y-axis and B-axis functions can perform eccentric drilling, contour milling, and other complex operations; programmable tailstocks and steady rests support long shaft components; high-pressure cooling systems aid deep hole drilling and chip breaking. These functional configurations enable multi-tasking centers to handle various complex part processing requirements.

From an economic perspective, although multi-tasking technology requires higher equipment investment, it can achieve overall production efficiency improvements through reduced equipment count, lower operator requirements, shorter production cycles, and reduced process flow. For small to medium batch, multi-variety, complex part production modes, multi-tasking offers excellent adaptability.
